Sample Saturday - Easy As Apple Pie!

We're continuing our #SampleSaturday here at Up North Gift Co! We are offering select samples most every Saturday through the end of 2021! We will start serving shortly after opening Saturday mornings & continue offering the samples as long as supplies last! We've also included recipes that can be created from some of the items we will be sampling each week!

Here's this week's Sample Saturday selection!

2 Cucumbers (sliced)

1 lb Bacon (cooked & chopped)

Directions

1. Combine BLT Mix with cream cheese as directed on the box. Mix until smooth.

2. Top each cucumber slice (possible substitutes: other vegetable, cracker, or breads) with some of the prepared BLT Cheeseball, sprinkle with Topping packet. Finish with a piece of bacon on top.

Caramel Apple Cider Float

1 pkg Cider Mix

1 gal Apple Juice

1 L Ginger Ale

Caramel Apple Roasted Pecans

Ingredients:

1 Egg White

Pecans

Directions:

Combine mix with one egg white and pecans. Bake for 22 minutes. So easy! An addictive snack and a great topping for everything from salads to ice cream!

Easy Apple Pie

This one is just for fun! We won't have this dip to sample this week, but it goes along with our Fall Football Snack Theme! We do, however, have it for sale in the shop & online and it is YUMMY!

Ingredients:

9 Apples (peeled, cored, & sliced)

4 TBS Butter

4 TBS Flour

1 Uncooked Pie Crust

1 Egg (optional)

Directions:

  1. Pre-heat oven 350 degree. Peel, core, and slice apples.

  2. Cook apples in butter and sprinkle with flour. Stir in Apple Cider Mix (Original or Caramel Apple). Continue to cook, stirring gently but frequently, over medium heat until sugar is mostly dissolved and texture of the apples begins to change and become softer (approx 10 minutes).

  3. While apples are cooking, place one pie crust in the bottom of a pie plate and reserve the other crust to place on top of pie.

  4. Spoon baked apples into pie plate and top with second crust, crimping the edges of the two crusts to seal them together.

  5. Bake for approximately 25 minutes. For a shiny crust, brush egg wash onto top crust minute into the baking time.

We'll see you Saturday, September 25th at 10:00 am!
